China's Renewable Energy and Non-Fossil Energy Share of Primary Energy Consumption

Source: CEC, National Bureau of Statistics, National Energy Administration and National Renewable Energy Center

Note: Unless otherwise specified, "China" in this book refers to the Mainland of China excluding the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province. According to the current energy statistics system in our country, non-commercial energy sources such as biogas for non-power generation, solar thermal energy utilization and geothermal heat utilization have not yet been included in the total energy consumption and non-fossil energy utilization statistics. This table considers the portion of non-commodity energy and calculates the proportion of total energy and non-fossil energy as total energy and commercial energy only, respectively. Biomass power generation includes bagasse, straw, biogas, and waste generation, with the 2014 figures as estimates. Each 10,000 cubic meters of methane equivalent to 7.14 tons of standard coal. The annual heat production per square meter of solar water heater equivalent 0.115 tons of standard coal. 1 ton of biomass briquette is equivalent to 0.5 ton of standard coal, 1 ton of bio-fuel ethanol is equivalent to 0.92 ton of standard coal and 1 ton of biodiesel is equivalent to 1.457 ton of standard coal. 2016 biogas, biofuels data No, continue 2015.
